Karen Moritz has been actively engaged as an artist for most of her adult life. She pursued drawing and painting at an early age and struggled to realize a personal style. She was a member of an artist's community in Austria for many years where she became adept at performance and continued to work on her drawing skills. The most recent and exciting development in her work has been the glass, colored liquid and found object sculptures. Karen's studio has always been a place filled with light, color and transparent or reflective materials. She thinks and writes metaphorically about feelings and human relationships. At last she has discovered a medium that is truly personal, unique and very aesthetic. By combining transparent or colored glass forms with colored liquids and other objects she can design an artwork on commission based on certain color relationships or as a symbolic representation of a piece of poetry or literature of your choice. She also has readymade sculptures which are shipped disassembled with instructions for the buyer to follow in order to reassemble on the site of your choice.
