Lots of women in my life right now, frequent dating opportunities but no one really blowin my whistle -- which isn't really a bad position to be in.... Richard, I'm finally online and have received a real email (as opposed to the phony "welcome to..." emails from the president of AOL). My email address is rsbeatty@aol.com. What you should know is that I'm too pure to use GUIs so I dictate these to Marsha. (Hi, this is Marsha) Is there a place where I can download Netscape for free, or some other good Web browser? Is there any place that I should look for info/advice about using the Net? Say hi to Cynthia. I'm uninspired & will talk to you later. Bye, Ron (and Marsha) RSB/ms Monday, February 26, 1996, email from Ron Date: Mon, 26 Feb 1996 19:41:00 -0500 Apparently-To: rgardner@charon.MIT.EDU n using the aol browser without problems. However it is slow and we hate to use up a lot of time trying to figure it out. My only real interest is e-mail. I'm only a little curious about all the junk that is out there because I already have plenty of projects to keep me busy. If I got really interested in the internet or www, I'd probably sign up for a course at a local college to be able to go overboard without spending too much money. The local library has access to the net for free. Now that I know just a tiny bit, I may try to explore using the library's time. The weather has been great here too, but that changes today. We've been dry for the most part. We need moisture but it is a relief to not have to deal with snow and ice. I hope you continue to enjoy the weather, etc. Don't feel obligated to try to find things for me. I'm just looking for the easiest solutions to simple problems. If I get really stuck on something important, I'll hollar loud. I've discovered how to use AOL's Flashmail to keep my on-line time down. That works pretty good. Then I tried their logging feature, but that is pretty useless. I'll play with this for 10 hours of free time, then switch to Compuserve for their 10 free hours. Last I'll try Delphi for their 5 free hours. After all that I should be able to make a decision about the best, cheapest service to provide my needs. (Also will be better informed as to those "needs".)
